(Greentek Vietnam), in collaboration with Long River Maritime Services Joint Stock Company (Long River), organized the launch ceremony of a demonstration project applying green hydrogen gas injection technology to diesel engines. The project aims to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the heavy transport sector, paving the way for a feasible direction in applying clean technologies in Vietnam.<\/p><p>At the event, the two companies introduced a system that integrates green hydrogen\u2014produced from renewable energy sources\u2014into the combustion chamber of diesel engines. This innovation enhances combustion efficiency, reduces fuel consumption, and minimizes harmful emissions.<\/p><p>According to representatives from Greentek Vietnam, this solution can reduce CO\u2082 emissions by 15\u201325%, while also helping to lower pollutants such as NOx, CO, and fine dust (PM2.5)\u2014key contributors to air quality degradation.<\/p><p>Real-world testing over a 1,000 km route from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City showed that the system achieved about 95% of the theoretical fuel-saving efficiency and 98% of the predicted emission reduction. Specifically, the technology helped cut CO\u2082 emissions by 25\u201335%, CO by 18\u201325%, save 15\u201330% in diesel consumption, improve engine power, and keep the combustion chamber clean during operation.<\/p><p>A representative from Long River stated that the company is gradually testing this technology on regular transport routes through port areas. Their goal extends beyond operational efficiency to environmental responsibility, aligning with Vietnam\u2019s roadmap toward net-zero emissions by 2050.<\/p><p>The project\u2019s launch highlights the proactive approach of enterprises in adopting clean energy solutions. Greentek Vietnam also revealed plans to expand demonstrations to several locations such as Hai Phong, Can Tho, and Ho Chi Minh City, while working with technical research institutes for independent evaluations and recommendations to establish supporting standards for broader implementation.<\/p><p>This project not only demonstrates the feasibility of applying green technology in economic activities but also represents a practical step toward promoting sustainable production and consumption\u2014aiming for a low-emission, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation system.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The development of technologies serving environmental protection has been and continues to be a pivotal direction, especially in Vietnam\u2019s roadmap toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
